TANGO TEACHER TRAINING with DANIEL TRENNER

Technique and creative tools to help you inform and inspire your students!

Argentine Tango is hot! This popular social dance has a clever and simple basic structure made endlessly complex by adding layers of leader's and follower's decoration. It is traditionally danced socially in a variety of related styles, and there are some recent exciting innovations to those vocabularies that offer more avenues for exploration. Tango, Waltz, and Milonga are two musical variations on the same theme that require rebuilding the entire panorama of tango vocabulary again. In its ÒfantasyÓ form, Argentine Tango offers complex and demanding vocabulary for exhibition dancing. Argentine Tango is a dance that provides a lifetime of facination, intrigue, and invention to its enthusiasts.

Daniel Trenner is widely acknowledged to be a leader in the revival of Argentine Tango outside of Buenos Aires and he has taught in more than 75 cities on 4 continents. His knowledge of tango is encyclopedic. His method of sharing tango's gramatical building blocks creates an enjoyable experience that prepares the student for dancing tango with anyone and in any style. He has more than 20 years teaching experience, an M.Ed. in dance, a background in bodywork and modern dance, and more than 12 years experience with tango in Argentina.

"Since Daniel's first visit with us in 1994, he has been our most consistent tango teacher. With his unique methodology as a basis for developing our program, Argentine Tango now accounts for about half of the business at my ballroom dance school." -Clay Nelson, Clay's Dance Studio, Portland, OR
