Take a PHOTO TOUR of the tour to Cuba!
This is an official U.S. Treasury licensed cultural exchange, of Tango and Salsa, with dancers from Havanna, Cuba. Talented local social dancers, professional dancers and teachers; they will accompany us on a one-to-one basis, gender-balance our classes, learn Tango along with us, teach us Salsa, and accompany us as our guides and partners to Salsa events. Our staff includes experienced Spanish-English 'dance' translators. Your experience with our Cuban colleagues will be easy and delightful. Get ready for an amazing adventure!
PROGRAM CONTENT: Every day offers a choice of multiple classes, at different levels, in Tango, Salsa, Afro Cuban dance, Cuban music and percussion, and Salsa Rueda de Casino (the salsa circle dance where you pass partners). Each day has practice time too. Social dancing at Havana's best clubs (incl. Casa de la Musica, Café Cantante, Salon Rosado), lots of live music and performances. Also; interviews and discussions with dancers of the older generation, with other authorities on Cuban dance and music, and visits to Havana's fascinating historic and cultural sights.
YOUR FOUR STAR HOTEL is the Hotel Sevilla, on the Prado promenade in the heart of Old Havana, a city recognized and protected by the UN as a world treasure. It has the charming elegance of an old Spanish Palace, impeccable service, a very beautiful dance hall, which we will use for many of our classes and events, and a recently renovated pool and health spa. Its convenient location allows for walking tours of the beautiful old city.
EARLY BOOKING IS VITAL. We have already been granted the relevant license but must apply for individual visas for you, so, we need your deposits now. The application process for visas can take up to 3 months - only early registration can ensure your place.
ESSENTIALS: We are involved with a unique and complex diplomatic process. All US nationals travelling to Cuba need our license and a visa. The price is significantly lower if you register early, because last minute preparations will be work intensive for us.
Your tour fee includes airfare from Montreal, Canada, (Believe us! It's the best way, although other options are available, if you like. You book your own connecting flight), double occupancy at the hotel with breakfast, all classes and events, all shows, staff, translation, guides and transportation to and from group events. Private room surcharge is $450.
Double your fun, stay for both programs! 2 program price reflects 1 roundtrip airfare, more nights in hotel, additional classes during the interim week, and some continued study during the second week. Private room surcharge for both tours is $1150.
