BUENOS AIRES TOUR DESCRIPTION

OUR PURPOSE
During our first tour to Buenos Aires in 1993, social tango and the great surviving milongueros were hard to find. Our job was to reveal this unpublicized world of clubs, or 'milongas.' Eight years later, our mission has changed. Tango's revival has given birth to a growing sprawl of events and schools, an intimidating maze to be navigated by a foreigner. Our staff dance year-round in Bs. As., and are in constant touch with the changing scene. From your first moment in BsAs, you will experience the best and most interesting clubs and teachers.

THE MASTER TEACHERS
An encounter with the living legends of Argentine Tango is at the heart of your trip. In our private studio spaces we organize daily group lessons and interviews with some of the most famous people in tango. Over the years our faculty has included: Pepito & Suzuki Avellenada, Juan Bruno, Eduardo Arquimbau, Esther and Mingo Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira & Olga Besio, Rodolfo & Maria Cieri, Nito and Elba Garcia, Facundo and Kely Posadas, Puppy Castello & Graciela González, Teté Rusconi & Maria Villalobos ,Teté & Sylvia Ceriani, Tommy O'Connell, Mariano 'Chicho' Frumboli, Eduardo Cappusi & Mariana Flores, and many others.

OUR STAFF INSTRUCTORS
Our staff instructors are a cornerstone of our organization. They help gender balance the classes, providing one-to-one learning that enhances your experience and raises your learning curve, no matter what your level. They also go social dancing with you at night. Every staff instructor is a bilingual professional tango dancer, chosen not just for their tango but for their great personalities. Some of our staff have been working with us for many years, helping create a very relaxed and friendly environment. They have included: Lorena Ermocida (TangoX2), Omar Merlo (TangoX2), Pablo Pugliese, Gabriel Guerberoff, Florencia Taccetti, Luciana Valle, Damien Essel, Marcelo Solis, Valencia Batiuk.

OUR KEY STAFF

Jeff Anderson, Program Director for the past 3 years, has received rave reviews for his thoroughness and presence. He is a masterful translator and has an encyclopedic knowledge of rare and interesting things about tango in Buenos Aires. An actor, playwright, singer, and classical pianist, he lives in Buenos Aires, where he is exploring the creative possibilities of tango improvisation for performance.

Gabriela Entin and Robert Blank are our year-round staff in Buenos Aires. Gabriela has been Daniel's Administrative Assistant for 11 years. Robert, from Germany, has been living in Buenos Aires and working with us since 1994.

Zoraida Fontclara and Diego Alvaro are our "dance captains" since 1995. They coordinate the relationships between instructors and participants. They are internationally known teachers and performers, and run the famous mid-day classes and dances at the Confiteria Ideal in Buenos Aires.

Brooke Burdett, another American living the tango in Buenos Aires for the past 4 years, serves in a host of special roles for Bridge to the Tango. She also travels internationally, teaching and performing tango.
